UAE has won the tri-national T-20 cricket series title. UAE won the title by defeating the home team Nepal by four wickets in the final match. Chasing a winning target of 163 runs for victory, UAE finished losing 6 wickets in 19 overs and 5 balls.
Mohammad Wasim of UAE scored 45 runs. UAE needed 7 runs off the last 6 balls to win. On the first ball, Basil Hamid hit Karan KC for two runs at cover. After dotting the second ball, five runs were needed in four balls. After giving away a run in the third ball, he bowled a wide. On the fourth ball, Ion scored a run. Two runs were needed in two balls. Basil scored a six on the fifth ball to win the game.
Abhinash Bohra and Gulsan Jha of Nepal took 2 wickets each. Before that, Nepal, who lost the toss and were invited to bat first, scored 162 runs losing 8 wickets in the scheduled 20 overs. Opener Kushal Bhurtel scored 50 runs for Nepal.
The ICC T20 World Cup Asia Zone Qualifier will start from Monday. Group A consists of Nepal, Oman, Singapore and Malaysia. Group B consists of Hong Kong, UAE, Bahrain and Kuwait. The two teams that reach the final will be eligible to play in the T20 World Cup in 2024.
