Mumbai. Shilpa Shetty’s husband Raj Kundra, accused in the pornography case, is bringing the film ‘UT-69’ in his life. The film is based on the story from the beginning of the case to the release on bail.
Raj has played his own role in the film. In the film, Kundra has tried to show his experience after going to jail, the effect on wife Shilpa Shetty and children.
Kundra said that the 63 days he spent in jail were the worst days of his life. He said that in the early days he even thought of committing suicide.
He was detained for 63 days
Raj was arrested by the Crime Branch of the Mumbai Police in July 2021 for allegedly making a porn film. Raj’s name came up in this case after some models and struggling actresses alleged that they were forced to make obscene films.
During the investigation, the police raided Raj’s house and arrested him. In this case, he had to stay in Arthur Road Jail for 2 months. In September 2021, the Mumbai Magistrate Court granted him bail.
Raj said, “When my name came up in this matter, Shilpa was hurt the most. He had a few brands. That too got out of hand. Shilpa and children were also called bad. I did not understand what was his fault in this. His name was wrongly mentioned in the media. He was targeted unnecessarily.
Shilpa has a distinct identity. There was no need to drag him on the matter. Even a group of media did not treat me fairly. My media trial was done. Words like ‘Shilpa’s husband’ were used. Shilpa was very hurt by this.
Raj Kundra said, “The first 10 days of jail were very difficult. Thoughts of suicide came. I used to wonder what harm I have done to anyone. I have no social circle. My friends are also limited, there is no one in my life except my wife, children and parents. When I came out of the jail, my father started crying when he saw me. I also hugged my children and started crying. I don’t understand what happened to me. I felt as if I had committed some sin in my previous birth. I was an atheist. After being imprisoned, his devotion to God increased. Now I fast for 9 days.
