On the day of Ashwin Shukla Purnima, the Khandagras lunar eclipse will take place today. According to the Nepal Panchang Adjudicator Development Committee, the Sutak of the lunar eclipse which will touch at 1:19 pm will start from 4:19 pm. It is mentioned in the calendar (almanac) approved by the committee that the moksha of the eclipse will end at 2:38 pm.
During the eclipse, daily and regular activities are done. One should not do deeds that are done with special wishes. Theologian Prof. Dr. Devmani Bhattarai also informed that there are three scriptures saying that such actions should not be done from Ashwin Shukla Chaturdashi to Kartik Krishna Pratipada.
